The Grands Letter (GLJ)
Gene L. Jeffries, Th.D. on August 29, 2016 7:45 am (CST)Dear Grands,
Matthew 28:12-14, âAnd when they had assembled with the elders and
consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 and said,
âYou are to say, âHis disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were
asleep.â 14 “And if this should come to the governor’s ears, we will win him over
and keep you out of trouble.”ââ
Were you ever tempted to lie about something? Iâm sure we all have been.
Is it more serious when âspiritual leadersâ encourage you to lie? Well, in this
case, it was! The Jewish chief priests and elders paid the soldiers money
and told them to lie about Jesusâ resurrection. Think about it. âYou are to say,â
these Jewish leaders said, His disciples cameâŚwhile we were asleep and
stole His body! If they were asleep, they were derelict in their duty, punishable
by death. And if they were asleep, how would they know it was Jesusâ disciples
that stole His body? Lies always lead to more lies; and those lies, lead to more
lies. Always tell the truth and you wonât get tripped up. Besides, Jesus would
never condone lying âever!
We love you truly âno lie there,
Nana & Dado III
