Dear Grands,

Matthew 6:34, “’So do not worry about tomorrow;

for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough

trouble of its own.”

This verse is lifted from the midst of the Sermon on the Mount

(Matthew 5-7) –the incomparable words of Christ that cover

Everything in human experience. ~ Anxiety bothers our world.

Fears and threats of all kinds swirl around us. Yet, as with a

tornado, there is absolute peace at the very center. Gogie

was a worrier. Burl, who lived next door, was a worrier, too.

He used to say, “Don’t tell me it doesn’t pay to worry. Nothing

I ever worried about ever happened.” Worry changes nothing.

When we “rest” in Jesus, we have nothing about which to worry.

He is ever and always in control.

Love you all,

Dear Grands,

Luke 21:12-15, “’But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you,

delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake.

13 “’It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony. 14 “’So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand

to defend yourselves; 15 for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able

to resist or refute.’”

Almost daily, I receive notifications from third-world countries, where Christians are

suffering persecution and death because they are Christians and because they are

sharing “the faith once delivered to the saints.” What our LORD Jesus warned the

disciples in the passage above has its parallel in today’s world. Yet, look what He

says: “It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony!” It’s like peace after pain.

Don’t prepare to defend yourself, He said, for He promises to give us what to say

at that precise moment. And He alone knows how far that testimony will reach

into human hearts –things our enemies cannot forget –things that lead them either

to repentance and faith or that testify against them in judgment. So be faithful!

Love and prayer for you all,

Dear Grands,

Mark 7:37, “They were utterly astonished, saying, ‘He has done all things well;

He makes even the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.’”

This was the occasion of Jesus’ healing a deaf man, who, because of his

deafness, could not speak plainly. You would do well to read the entire

passage (much too long for us here). What was equally amazing was the

reaction of the people who witnessed the miracle. They said, “He (Jesus)

has done all things well (k???? ?????).” He still does! And our lives and

that of our nation will do well when we rest them in His nail-scarred Hands.

Love you all, and Happy Birthday to Heather! She’s 15 today!

Dear Grands,

Psalm 103:1-5, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;

3 Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;

4 Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;

5 Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.”

As I arose this morning a little before 06:00, this verse came immediately to mind!

What a blessed glory it is to have the LORD fill our minds with His Words! Look

at all He does: He pardons, heals, redeems, crowns and satisfies! (I have only

to receive the renewal of my youth!) – Don’t laugh! Your day will come.

We are praying for all those whom we love,

Dear Grands,

Proverbs 4:23-26, “Watch over your heart with all diligence,

For from it flow the springs of life. 24 Put away from you a deceitful

mouth And put devious speech far from you. 25 Let your eyes look

directly ahead And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.

26 Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established.”

Except for our LORD Jesus, Solomon was the wisest man who

ever lived. Some of his instructions at times seem difficult, yet

they have stood the test of time in every generation. As difficult

as the earlier verses here may seem, note that they conclude

with the promise that “your ways will be established.” The LORD

is always faithful.

Love you all immensely,

Nana & Dado III
