The Grands Letter

Dear Grands,

John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches;

he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit,

for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

The entirety of John 15 has always been a favorite of mine.

It abounds in godly instruction. One problem we all seem

to have at times is to think we’ve accomplished something

through our own wisdom or strength. But Jesus said, “…apart

from Me, you can do nothing.” Ouch! That word put us in our

place, doesn’t it? He performs His will through us; we benefit,

but He receives the glory!

Dear Grands,

John 14:1-3, “’Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.

2 “’In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you;

for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 “’If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again

and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.’”

Despite the difficulties we encounter in this increasingly sinful world, we have

the precious promises or our LORD Jesus Christ as our comfort. The key to

this comfort is belief. If we focus upon His Words instead of the world’s ways,

we can know safety in the midst of life’s storms. Focus on Him today –and

every day hereafter. See what a difference occurs in your life!

Dear Grands,

Hosea 10:12, “Sow with a view to righteousness,

Reap in accordance with kindness;

Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD

Until He comes to rain righteousness on you.”

From the Old Testament comes instruction applicable

to today. Witness in righteousness; reap in kindness.

If ever there were a time that people needed the LORD,

It is today! He is Coming! And His Coming will be a

blessing unimaginable!

Dear Grands,

John 9:24-25, “So a second time they called the man who had been blind, and said to him, ‘Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.’ 25 He then answered, ‘Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.’”

I’ve always loved this passage. It actually covers all of chapter nine.

The blind man in this encounter was no dummy. He had courage, and

spoke boldly to the Pharisees. What struck me as I re-read it today was

that the man said, speaking of Jesus, “’Whether He is a sinner, I do not know…’”
It is not necessary for someone to know everything about Jesus in order to

be saved. At the same time, it is not necessary for us to share everything

we know about Him in order for them to be saved. But, it is necessary that

we share as much as they need to know. The Holy Spirit will direct us.

Dear Grands,

John 10:27-30, “’My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 “’My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 “I and the Father are one.’”

The LORD has multiple ways of communicating His Truths to us.

Basically, of course, it is through the Bible. Sometimes, it is through

other people. Always, the Holy Spirit is involved. His directions

are not always “logical” to us, but they are true and they work!
