The Grands Letter (GLJ)
Gene L. Jeffries, Th.D. on October 28, 2016 7:53 am (CST)Dear Grands,
Hebrews 1:1-3a, “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets
in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us
in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He
made the world. 3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact
representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.”
I have very sensitive eyes. I see well, but I can’t take too much light.
When Paul says that Christ is “the radiance of the Father’s glory,” we
can think of Jesus’ Transfiguration (Matt. 17:2), where “His face shone
like the sun and His garments became as white as light.” All that is to
say that we have NO IDEA WHATEVER how glorious Christ Jesus is!
Further, the Scripture says, “He (Christ) is the exact representation of
His (the Father’s) nature.” So, when the Bible teaches that we are to
be like Jesus, it is saying we are to be just like Jesus is like His Father.
While God is light (1Jn 1:5), He also is power beyond human understanding.
He literally spoke (????) the universe into being and maintains it by the
word (????) of His power. Don’t pay any attention to “global warming.”
It is and will be whatever the LORD desires. After all, He made it!
Love you tremendously,
Nana & Dado III
