The Grands Letter (GLJ)
Gene L. Jeffries, Th.D. on October 30, 2016 7:56 am (CST)Our dear Grands,
Psalm 1:1-2, “How blessed is the man who does not walk
in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the
LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.”
A few days ago, one of my students wrote that after he had come
to know the LORD, he was very happy (blessed); but then, he walked
away from the LORD and began to do the things his friends did.
This is the very thing against which the Bible warns us. Friends have
a powerful influence on us, no matter who we are or what we are
doing. Think about it: If one church changes its name, it influences
others to do the same. If someone dresses a certain way, others
begin to do the same. If certain words, like “cool,” are used by some,
soon everyone starts to use them. But, the Bible warns against doing
or saying or associating in any way with those who live by the counsel
of wicked (unsaved) people. We are always to take our counsel from God.
Walk with God. Be a spiritual “trend-setter!” You are your friends’
friend. You can influence them.
We love you all,
Nana & Dado III
