The Grands Letter (GLJ)

on June 12, 2016 7:02 am (CST)

Dear Grands,

2 Corinthians 5:9-10, “Therefore we also have as our ambition,

whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. 10 For we must

all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may

be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has

done, whether good or bad.”

As believers in Jesus Christ, our supreme desire should always be

“to be pleasing to Him.” (That should be our desire regarding our

parents, too.) Yes, we will someday have to give account for what

we have done that was displeasing to Christ, and we will be rewarded

for things we’ve done that were pleasing to Him. ~ So now you know.

Love you all intensely,

The Grands Letter (GLJ)

Dear Grands,

Ecclesiastes 11:9a, “Rejoice, young man, during your childhood,

and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood.”

While Solomon does go on to give a warning in the remainder

of this verse, there is great value in these initial words. Don’t

let your young life become cluttered with negative things. Look

on the bright and positive side of life. Be joyous!!

Love you all immensely,

Dear Grands,

Ecclesiastes 10:10, “If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge,

then he must exert more strength. Wisdom has the advantage of giving success.”

Solomon, author of Ecclesiastes, was the wisest man who ever lived, with the

Exception of Jesus Christ.

My paternal grandfather, whom I never knew, was a blacksmith. He worked

to keep the miners’ pick-points sharp, and had (in wisdom) perfected a means

of keeping them sharper longer. The sharper the pick, the less often a miner

would have to come to the surface to have it sharpened. Coming to the surface,

cost the miners time; and time was money. See how wisdom works?

Think wisely today. How could you better your life by using wisdom? How

does one acquire wisdom? “…if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God,

who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him” (Jam 1:5).

All our love,

Nana & Dado III

Dear Grands,

Ecclesiastes 3:14, “I know that everything God does will remain forever;

there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has

so worked that men should fear Him.”

Have you noticed how concerned some people are about, say, “global

warming”? Well, that’s nonsense, according to the Bible. The LORD

has done what He has done and there is nothing and no one who can

change it. Mankind would do well to reverence God, for that is His

purpose and it is to our benefit.

Keep this to yourselves, but a young Chinese mother trusted Christ

yesterday on Skype! Please pray for her, as she is now very young in the

faith. Her name is Amber.

We love you immensely,

Dear Grands,

This is a bit longer than usual, but it bears a careful, slow reading.

1 Timothy 4:1-5, “But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith,

paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars

seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, 3 men who forbid marriage and advocate

abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and

know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received

with gratitude; 5 for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.”

Too many people follow other people instead of following the LORD. Too many pastors

absorb themselves with the writings and teaching of other men instead of the LORD.

Live in God’s Word! He has created everything for our good.

Love you all,

Nana & Dado III
