Dear Grands,

2 Corinthians 10:3-5, โ€œFor though we walk in the flesh,

we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons

of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful

for the destruction of fortresses.โ€

Flesh has two meanings. The first is physical; the second

and third are spiritual. Our spiritual weapons are prayer

and faith. What we cannot defeat physically, the LORD

defeats for us when we pray and believe. The old hymn

says,

But we never can prove the delights of His love

Until all on the altar we lay;

For the favor He shows, and the joy He bestows,

Are for them who will trust and obey.

Live in faith and trust today!

We love you,

Dear Grands,

Proverbs 16:20, โ€œHe who gives attention to the word will find good,

And blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.โ€

The word word in this verse can mean a variety of things. It can be

The word of your parents, or a boss, or a teacher. I take it to mean

the Word of the LORD. After all, what word is superior to His Word?

And trusting in His Word assures us of His blessing.

May He always bless you,

Dear Grands,

Proverbs 16:1, โ€œThe plans of the heart belong to man,

But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.โ€

Did you ever plan to say one thing and end up saying

Something else? That happened to me yesterday. I

was asked to offer the benediction at an event; but, while

I was praying, I found myself inviting people to come to

faith in Christ. Thatโ€™s exactly what this verse declares.

God bless you, kids! We love you!

Dear Grands,

Proverbs 15:31-33. โ€œHe whose ear listens to the life-giving reproof

Will dwell among the wise. 32 He who neglects discipline despises himself,

But he who listens to reproof acquires understanding. 33 The fear of the LORD

is the instruction for wisdom, And before honor comes humility.โ€

Sometimes the reproof of the LORD seems harsh. Sometimes discipline

seems hard. But both are administered for our benefit and His glory.

Remember that the LORDโ€™s instruction is always wiser than menโ€™s; and

when we bend to His will, He honors us exceedingly.

Love you all exceedingly,

Nana & Dado III

Dear Grands,

1 Thessalonians 1:2-4, โ€œWe give thanks to God always for all of you,

making mention of you in our prayers; 3 constantly bearing in mind your

work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord

Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father, 4 knowing, brethren

beloved by God, His choice of youโ€ฆโ€

You all are grand โ€“both to us and to the LORD! Remember, โ€œToday is

the first day of the rest of your life.โ€ Keep on keeping on!

Love to you all,

Nana & Dado III
