The Grands Letter (GLJ)
Gene L. Jeffries, Th.D. on January 22, 2017 7:38 am (CST)Dear Grands,
John 15:7, “’If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.’”
Sometimes circumstances come at us so furiously that we
hardly know which way to turn or what to do. Jesus tells
us just to relax, to settle down and trust Him, and let His
Words fill us with His truths. Maybe we could compare it
with swimming. Just beating the water doesn’t do it. You
have to relax before you can swim. The Greeks had four
what we call “conditional sentences.” The all begin with
the word if. The one used here is the third. If you abide
in Me –maybe you will, maybe you won’t; and if My Words
abide in you –maybe they will, maybe they won’t; ask, and
what you ask shall be given to you. This is not a game of
chance! It is a promise of God. But it hinges on 1) whether
you are trusting fully in the LORD and 2) whether you are
allowing His Words to guide your life actions. I have to
wonder how much sickness is due to our failure to simply
abide in Jesus Christ.
May the LORD bless each of you in His Love,
Nana & Dado III
