The Grands Letter (GLJ)
Gene L. Jeffries, Th.D. on April 27, 2017 7:21 am (CST)Dear Grands,
Proverbs 3:1-4, “My son, do not forget my teaching,
But let your heart keep my commandments;
2 For length of days and years of life
And peace they will add to you.
3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 So you will find favor and good repute In the sight
of God and man.”
I was recounting some of my high school studies
the other day. And it is amazing how much I have
forgotten. I made good grades then, but now…?
It is easy to forget, to let things slip. That’s why
we need to review things we’ve learned. Especially,
is that true of spiritual things. Solomon admonishes
us to “bind around (our necks)” those spiritual
things we’ve learned and “write them on the tablet
of (our hearts).” Do you remember what I said
about how the Bible keeps repeating the things we
need to learn? It’s so true! And it has its own
rewards. When you learn the teachings of the
LORD, we “find favor” with Him and have “good
repute” (insight, understanding) of His ways and
the ways of others.
May our LORD richly reward you with His wisdom,
