The Grands Letter (GLJ)

Acts 23:16-22, âBut the son of Paul’s sister heard of their ambush, and he came and entered the barracks and told Paul. 17And Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, âLead this young man to the commander, for he has something to report to him.â 18 So he took him and led him to the commander and said, âPaul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to lead this young man to you since he has something to tell you.â 19And the commander took him by the hand and stepping aside, began to inquire of him privately, âWhat is it that you have to report to me?â
20And he said, âThe Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down tomorrow to the Council, as though they were going to inquire somewhat more thoroughly about him. 21So do not listen to them, for more than forty of them are lying in wait for him who have bound themselves under a curse not to eat or drink until they slay him; and now they are ready and waiting for the promise from you.â 22Therefore the commander let the young man go, instructing him, âTell no one that you have notified me of these things.â”
Did you ever have the feeling that you were werenât worth much? âHeâs just a kid. She doesnât know anything, either. Donât listen to them.â No one is quieter than Chris. But heâs no dummy. He knows more about things that you would guess. ~ This is an interesting passage. Itâs the only
place in the Bible where we learn that the Apostle Paul had a sister, and that she had a son.
Paul was being held in custody by the Roman guard. How could a kid eight or 10 get into the barracks? Donât underestimate kids! Theyâre everywhere! Whatâs more, they know things you donât think they know. Humm⌠The centurion took the boy seriously. So did the commander. Iâm amused by the boyâs forthrightness with the commander: âSo do not listen to themâŚâ ~ Make no mistake about it. Youâre worth far more than you know. And when you know something the other person doesnât, he will listen. You do know Jesus. Do your friends know Him? How important is it for them to know? HummâŚ
The LORD answers prayer! We are privileged to pray for your daily.
