Dear Grands,

Psalm 19:7-11, “The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

8 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether.

10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.

11 Moreover, by them Thy servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward.”

The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest court in the nation. Whatever that court decides is correct, the people of our

nation are obliged to live by its directive. There is nowhere further to take a case that has been decided by the Supreme Court.

There is, however, a yet higher court than the Supreme Court. It is the Divine Court of Almighty God! It deals with human behavior.

The psalmist David uses six heavy, yet applicable words from the LORD to shape our human conduct.

1. The Law of God gives us direction and instruction as to how we are to live our lives. They are complete and perfect

and work to restore our souls as He had intended them to function from the beginning. Everything we need as a directive

is contained in Holy Scripture.

2. The Testimony of the LORD is supportive of both the admonition and confirmation of His Law. The open-minded

person is made wiser by adhering to them.

3. The Precepts of the LORD are His rules of action and conduct that direct our lives. They are both correct and safe to

follow. Besides all else, they bring joy into the life of those who adhere to them.

4. The Commandments of the LORD are His clear and clean orders that we are to implement into our own lives. They are pure and enlightening, easy to understand.

5. The Fear of the LORD relates to His awesomeness. One might willingly risk disobeying the Apostle Paul, but never

the LORD! His ways weigh heavily upon those who challenge His directives.

6. The Judgments of the LORD – His final judgments covering every situation — are always correct. That is, they are

incontrovertable! You might as well talk to the wind. The LORD does not alter or change His pronounced judgments!

But aren’t these directives difficult to follow? They may seem so at first; yet, doing right, living to His standards, brings inward peace

to our needy, spiritual lives. And when we obey His stated will, there is for us a promised reward – “more desirable than gold…and

sweeter than honey.” Still, beyond this, there is an even greater reward for those who follow our LORD’s directives.

What can be more celebrated than rules that bring rewards? Search the Scriptures to see! Live correctly and learn! Focus on His Life

and you will find living both pleasant and exciting! God bless you in your quest!

Heartily in Christ Jesus,

(Dado III)
