Dear Grands,

2 Peter 3:8-16, “But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!
13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you,
16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.”

Alarms can be devastating! Some, of course, are intended as warnings of danger. When I was a child, my mother and the mothers of my playmates, set timers on the length of our playing. Sometimes it was 30 minutes…sometimes it was an hour. Of course, none of us ever had as much playtime as we wanted. It was hard for us to understand. We never considered what our mothers might have had to do; we were only concerned about ourselves.

The problem of time is still with us. In fact, it’s an important factor to all of us. Yet, we live as if there were an abundance of time however we choose to utilize it. What the Bible says sites as most important is our being ready for the Coming of the LORD Jesus. The timer is set and running; but, we’re not concerned because we’re too busy “playing.”

Clearly, the Bible teaches that Jesus will return first to gather His own born-again sons and daughters. His Coming will draw them into the air to meet Him. Those who are left behind will suffer the Great Tribulation that will suddenly fall upon the earth.

Following the seven years of Great Tribulation, Christ will return to the earth with His own; and together with them, He will enter into the 1,000-year Millennial reign here on earth! It is of supreme importance that you be in the LORD’s Family during that time. If you’re not committed to Him, repent of your sins today; ask His forgiveness and trust Him along with His Word. All of those who have believed on Christ and receive this Letter will be praying for you to receive Him. That buzzer could run out of time at any moment!

Heartily in Christ Jesus,

(Dado III)
