Dear Grands,

Ephesians 1:1-8, “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love
5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
8 which He lavished on us…”

I first met Dr. Adrian Rogers when he led a revival meeting in a church where I was
just a member. The admiration I have had for him and his preaching over the years
started first with my admiration of him as a humble, sincere man of God. Asked how he was, as he neared death in the hospital, he responded, “I am at perfect peace.”

The Apostle Paul understood that “perfect peace” as he spoke of “grace…and peace”
in the salutation of this Letter to the Ephesian Church. Someone has well said that
“grace” is “God’s Redemption At Christ’s Expense.” That is so true! What’s more, the LORD has “every spiritual blessing” reserved for us when we are ready to receive it.

Paul assures us that before the world was created, it was His studied intention to bestow “every spiritual blessing” that He had prepared for each one of us, who would by faith become one of His children. That’s what I would call “perfect peace.”

Have you ever thought of God as being “limited”? Probably not; yet, it is He who limits the bestowal of His own salvation upon those who trust His death and resurrection and accept Him as LORD and Savior of their lives. Upon us, who receive Him, He forgives our sin and lavishes us in the glories of His grace! Are you there? Are you in His grace? Have you trusted Him as your personal Savior? Death awaits all of us; but will you at that moment be able to say, “I am at perfect peace”? I pray you will.

Heartily in Christ Jesus,

(Dado III)
