Dear Grands,

Genesis 18:19, “”For I have chosen him (Abraham), so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.”

Exodus 23:6, “”You shall not pervert the justice due to your needy brother in his dispute.”

Leviticus 19:15, “You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly….

Deuteronomy 10:18: “He executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and shows His love for the alien by giving him food and clothing.”

Malachi 2:17: “You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, ‘How have we wearied Him?’ In that you say, ‘Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them.’ ‘Where is the God of justice?’”

So much evil covers the world! Those who are evil, seem to prosper, while
those who seek to be and do good seem only to be blamed! Will evil ever
be overcome with good? Will injustice ever be overcome by justice? Yes,
when justice is thoroughly immersed in faith!

Are you living by faith? Are you trusting the Word of God that states that
the LORD will ultimately be victorious? If you are, you are pleasing to God.
If you are not, you need today to embrace His Truth in the Scriptures! When
you do, you will “come alive” and break the chains of fear in your life!

Heartily in Christ Jesus,

Dear Grands,

2 Corinthians 5:1-10, “For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,
3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.
4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.
5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.
6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord–
7 for we walk by faith, not by sight–
8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.
9 Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent,
to be pleasing to Him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

The Apostle Paul’s message to the Corinthian Church, is in reality, the
LORD’s message to all believers today. If we are deprived of life here
on earth, it is not the terminal point of our existence. We, who know the
LORD Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, are deprived of nothing. In
reality, Life finds its fulfillment when we are blessed to be in the eternal
presence of Christ Himself.

Paul, therefore, encourages us to look toward that Eternal Day with Jesus!
He has prepared us for that very day, just as the Father prepared His Son
to suffer and die for our sins, granting to us His Holy Spirit in the Interim.

To those who trust Him prior to death, He grants Eternal Life! With this
clear instruction of hope from the Scriptures, you can face anything – even death! Prepare yourself by confessing your sin and trusting the LORD
Jesus to forgive you. You will then commence to grow in a New Life:
His Life. You will then come to know the difference Jesus makes!

Heartily in Christ Jesus,

Genesis 28:18-22, “So Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he
had put under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on its top.
19 He called the name of that place Bethel; however, previously the name of the city
had been Luz. Then Jacob made a vow, saying, ‘If God will be with me and will keep
me on this journey that I take, and will give me food to eat and garments to wear,
21 and I return to my father’s house in safety, then the LORD will be my God.
22 “This stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.’”

One of my first jobs as a kid was gardening. That most often included mowing yards
by hand (no power mowers for home use then). Later, I got a job in a pharmacy,
delivering medications some two miles round trip. Later still, I worked in a mortuary.
What I learned quickly was that 10% of my earnings was to be given to the LORD.

As I grew, I never lost sight of what was to be given to the LORD for the furtherance
of His work. It never occurred to me that my paltry sum by itself amounted to virtually nothing. Only much later in life did I learn that the “however smalls” bundled together
was useful to the LORD in His earthly work. It became a spiritual discipline.

What’s more, my income grew, teaching me that no one can “out-give the LORD!”
In fact, the more I gave, the more my income increased. That led me to believer that
we “cannot out-give the LORD!”

I have to wonder if Jacob ever truly realized what he was saying when he said,
“…of all that You give me, I will surely give a tenth to You.” Follow Jacob’s life in the
Scriptures and you’ll see that he was right. Follow that principle and you’ll see that
It works for you, too. The more you give by faith, the more He ultimately returns.
You simply cannot out-give God!

Heartily in Christ Jesus,

Dear Grands,

Psalm 119:111-117, “I have inherited Your testimonies forever, for they are the joy
of my heart.
112 I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, even to the end.
113 I hate those who are double-minded, but I love Your law.
114 You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word.
115 Depart from me, evildoers, that I may observe the commandments of my God.
116 Sustain me according to Your Word, that I may live; and do not let me be ashamed
of my hope.
117 Uphold me that I may be safe, That I may have regard for Your statutes continually.”

Has it not been your experience that the owner, or even the foreman, of a place of
employment is excited to hear or observe an employee conducting himself as his
responsibilities require? No question about it, that employee will receive commendation
from his overseer.

No one, however, rejoices over a “double-minded,” half-hearted laborer. How can one
know the responsibilities of a worker and rejoice when he ignores as he is charged
with faithful work? How can an unfaithful laborer even rejoice over work he has ignored?

The psalmist cries, “Depart from me, evildoers, that I may observe the commandments
of my God!” Yet, the psalmist cries for the assistance of the LORD: “Uphold me
according to Your Word…” he cries; for it is by Your Word alone that I live in safety!

The psalmist acknowledges that it is by the LORD that he is sustained. Such it is with
us, too. For unless our lives show to others the pattern established by the LORD, how
will they be persuaded to embrace Him or be embraced by His promised love? The
true servant’s cry is: “Sustain me according to Your Word that I may live; and not be
ashamed of my hope”; for my hope lies ever securely only in You!

Dear Grands,

Psalm 119:97-105, “O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
98 Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever mine.
99 I have more insight than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.
100 I understand more than the aged, because I have observed Your precepts.
101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your word.
102 I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, for You Yourself have taught me.
103 How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 From Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

If you’ve ever wondered what David did in his spare time (–or if you’ve ever
wondered what to do in your “spare time,” or even what “spare time” actually is),
you need to read and re-read what David says in the verses above.

It’s of particular value to us just to hear someone say, “O, how I love what you’ve
done!” The substance, of course, is of value; but the excitement in the speaker’s
voice pierces you to the core! How the LORD must continue to rejoice over David’s psalm!

David’s heart overflows with gratitude for all that the LORD has provided for him!
Does your heart not beat more heartily as you understand His teachings and their
value to you? Scripture exists for us as spiritual food. The absorption of His Word
feeds our souls and enriches our devotion to our LORD. May He bless you as you
absorb it daily!

Heartily in Christ Jesus,
