Dear Grands,

Matthew 5:1-12, “When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him.
2 He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
10 “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
12 “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.’”

Were you ever discouraged? Have you ever lived with the thought that what you wanted so much might never occur? Has your heart mourned? Have you felt left out? Neglected? If you have, you are not alone.

“Not alone,” however, does not mean that you have what is missing. It simply means that there is room for the LORD to work in seeing that your life is fulfilled. Nine times in 12 verses, the Word assures us that we are “not alone.” The LORD is with us. He simply says, “Rejoice and be glad…” Those who recognize His blessing have no reason to be sad.

The presence of the LORD is ever and always our delight! He is our “Morning Star!” He fills our lives with glory! He answers our prayers. He brings light –His Light!—into our lives! He meets our needs at every turn.

No wonder the Scriptures say, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits;
3 Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
4 Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
5 Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
6 The LORD performs righteous deeds and judgments for all who are oppressed (Psalm 103:1-6)!

Cheer up, ye saints of God
There’s nothing to worry about;
Nothing to make you feel afraid,
Nothing to make you doubt.
Remember Jesus never fails;
So, why not trust Him and shout?
You’ll be sorry you worried at all
Tomorrow morning!

Heartily in Christ Jesus,

(Dado III)
