The Grands Letter (Isa/GLJ)

August 6, 2025

Dear Grands,

Isaiah 45:2-6, “I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars.

3 “I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places, so that you may know that it is I, The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.

4 “For the sake of Jacob My servant, and Israel My chosen one, I have also called you by your name; I have given you a title of honor though you have not known Me.

5 “I am the LORD, and there is no other; besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me;

6 That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other…”

There are simply some things that mortal man cannot do for himself. Have you not already discovered that? Every day we come face-to-face with the same things – not things we’ve forgotten. The sufficiency of our LORD is what our memory has yet to “fully conquer” – the simple things, forgotten things; things over which we are rightfully, repeatedly embarrassed.

Don’t give up! There is an answer: The LORD has bestowed upon those who are His a spiritual blessing beyond our belief! He goes before us, much like a parent goes before a child, eliminating the rough places on the road. Yet, those “rough places” are the very impediments that, when removed, bring Him honor even as they bring us relief.

He gives to us the “treasures of darkness” and “hidden wealth (in) secret places.” He wants us to know who He is and what He can accomplish that is beneficial to our lives.

Yes, sometimes the treasure of darkness is the sufficiency of funds for a vitally needed item that we could never have afforded. Yet, His graciousness beckons our love and thankfulness. He is ever to be praised! Start praising Him now!

Heartily yours in Christ Jesus,
