The Grands Letter

Dear Grands,

Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword,

and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge

the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

A young woman came to faith in Christ in a church I once pastored. She was hungry for

the Word of God, and won her husband to Christ by sharing that Word. But, she could

never understand how the Word of God could know “the thoughts and intentions” of her

heart. Had I known then what I know now, I could have helped her. The Word of God is

both the Scriptures –the Bible—and the LORD! Rhema ???? is the spoken word; logos ?????,

is the Living Word. And it is logos that Paul uses here. The late and inimitable Dr. W. A. Criswell

said, “It has life in itself. It moves in itself. It stirs itself. It is able to impart heavenly life.

It is able to do miraculous things in the soul. It has that strange, mystic power of quickening

and making alive.” Now, I can help you where I could not help that young lady many years

ago. STAY IN THE WORD EVERY DAY! The problems I have had throughout my life have

been solved as I read and believed the Word of God. He will do the same for you!
