Dear Grands,

Psalm 16:7-9, “I will bless the LORD who has counseled me;

Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.

8 I have set the LORD continually before me;

Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;

My flesh also will dwell securely.”

Who or what guides your life –what you do? This is

the problem most people have. They don’t have

purpose in their lives and don’t know the One who

is present to guide them. The psalmist is excited

because of the LORD! Day and night the LORD is his

counselor and defender. He is not shaken with fear.

His heart rejoices. He is at peace because he trusts

in the LORD.

We are not to be indifferent toward life. The LORD

has given us minds with which to think. But, when

our thoughts continuously center on Him, we find

ourselves moving in the right direction. Stay in the

WORD! Read it daily! Look for the LORD guidance

as you read. You will be amazed at what He does!

And you will never have need to be afraid.

We love and pray for you all,

Dear Grands,

Psalm 9:7-9, “But the LORD abides forever; He has established

His throne for judgment, 8 And He will judge the world in

righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with

equity. The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed,

A stronghold in times of trouble…”

The justice of this world is often flawed. Sheriff Joe Arpaio of

Arizona says that he was condemned unjustly. President Trump

has “indicated” that he will pardon Sheriff Arpaio. There is huge

injustice in the world-at-large. Contracts far too often are not

worth the paper on which they are written. People promise, but

do not keep their word. Honorable people are disparaged; crooks

escape justice and go free. But, it will not be so with the LORD!

His Throne exists for righteous judgment. He will judge the world

evenly and fairly –with equity. Moreover, He will be a stronghold,

a place of retreat, for those who are “crushed” in times of “distress.”

As the old chorus goes,

Cheer up, ye saints of God,

There’s nothing to worry about;

Nothing to make you feel afraid,

Nothing to make you doubt;

Remember, Jesus never fails,

So why not trust Him and shout?

You’ll be sorry you worried at all

tomorrow morning.

May the LORD bless and encourage each of you!

We pray for you every, single, day.

Love always,

Dear Grands,

Job 11:7, “’Can you discover the depths of God?

Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?’”

At some point and in some way, we’ve all thought

to ourselves, “I’m pretty smart.” Well, we’re not!

And if you won’t take my word for it, read the Book

of Job. At one point, the LORD says to Job,

“”…I will ask you, and you instruct Me!” (Job 38:3).

Then, the LORD lays question after question on Job in

chapter 41 (I counted 71!). After that, Job pleads with God,
“’…I have declared that which I did not understand,

Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

4 ‘Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask Thee, and

do Thou instruct me’” (42:3-4).

It’s interesting that what we seek to know today through

“true science” and with all our modern technology, is a

search to discover what God already knows and spells

out for Job! No, we’re not as smart as we think. The

LORD spoke through the Psalmist when he said, “Be still,

and know that I am God….” (Ps. 46:10). So, we had

best trust His Word. He is able and willing to bless the

humble; but is equally able to crush the proud.

We continue to love and pray for you daily,

Dear Grands,

My Internet is once again functioning!

Job 19:25-26, “’And as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,

And at the last He will take His stand on the Earth.

26 Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh,

I shall see God…’”

It is difficult, if not impossible, to see and hear the News

today without the mention of suffering. Still, apart from

the suffering of our LORD Jesus on the Cross, there may

be no one who suffered as much as Job. One of the

wealthiest men of the East, Job lost everything –his cattle,

his children, his health—Only his wife was left to him, and

she said, “Curse God, and your suffering will be over.”

Yet, Job’s hope lay in his confidence that the LORD lives

and that He is his Redeemer!

Nana suffered immensely when her heart was giving out.

But, I will forever remember how in the midst of her

turmoil, she would look at me, smile and wink, as if she

knew all would ultimately be well. ~ Keep your focus on

the LORD. “’He has done all things well’” (Mark 7:37).

He will bring us through those difficult times and situations.

He is our Redeemer! Always keep your trust in Him!

Our love and prayers follow you always,

“We never know that God is all we need

until He becomes all that we have.”

Dear Grands,

Esther 2:12-13, “Now when the turn of each young lady came

to go in to King Ahasuerus, after the end of her twelve months

under the regulations for the women– for the days of their

beautification were completed as follows: six months with oil of

myrrh and six months with spices and the cosmetics for women–

13 the young lady would go in to the king in this way: anything that

she desired was given her to take with her from the harem to the

king’s palace.”

If you’ve not read the Book of Esther for some time, you would

do well to do so. A quick background here will be helpful. Vashti

was King Ahasuerus’ queen. She disobeyed an order and was

deposed (kicked out!). Esther, a young Jewish girl was one of

many, who was being prepared for the king’s choosing to replace

Vashti. Our verse above tells how the girls were prepared and

how long that preparation took.

The principle I see here is: no matter how externally beautiful

one is “of form and face” (v. 7), it is not sufficient for the king.

If that be true regarding an earthly king, how much truer it is

that we must all be internally beautiful for our Heavenly Father!

I shall never forget a woman I once met in Australia. Seriously,

she was externally the most repulsive woman I believe I’ve ever

seen. It was difficult to look at her while she spoke to me. But

when I learned about her prayer life and how she prayed so

often and at all hours, so that her husband had built her a

sound-proofed prayer room, I saw her internal beauty. All of

you girls, who are receiving this, are beautiful to me. Yet what

matters is that you are internally beautiful to our loving LORD

Jesus Christ. And you fellows, who will someday be seeking

a wife, remember that her internal beauty is of far greater

worth than her external. Still, there’s nothing wrong is seeking

both! ??

We love and pray for you always,
