Dear Grands,

2 Peter 3:3-9, “Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,

4 and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.’

5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water,

6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.

7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.

9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”

The news media does relatively well in keeping us abreast of world conditions; but have you noticed how many countries are restless and provoked by the nations that surround them? Who knows what country is next to explode because of the human restlessness that pervades their nation and the nations surrounding them?

Conditions of unrest are precisely what the LORD predicted for the “last days.” Church attendance has increased in numerous areas, yet many churches appear to exist more for what the attendees can provide them rather than what they have come to learn from the Scriptures. Numerous radio and television programs spray the world with the Good News of Salvation, yet the turmoil in society-at-large continues unabated.

Peter tells us that the LORD is not slow concerning His promised Coming; we must simply be patient. The older I become, the less patience I have; still, I’m not running things! The LORD is! His timing is His responsibility alone! The responsibility of all truly born-again believers is to be patient, and faithful in sharing the message of salvation with others. There are numerous means of doing this, but living our lives in accordance with the Word of God is foremost! Are you there? Who knows how many lost souls are looking to you and me for hope! We have a challenge!

Heartily in Christ,
