Dear Grands,

1 Corinthians 9:27, “…I discipline my body and make it my slave,

so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.”

Discipline is fast-becoming a lost art. Instead of attending to the

things we are assigned to do in life, we wander into the area of

“want-to” and do what we had rather do instead of what we ought

to do. In that process, we waste time and simultaneously fail at our

primary task. Paul viewed his ministry as his number one task. We

would all do well to follow Paul’s example.

We love you gobs,

Dear Grands,

Psalm 103:1-2, “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me,

bless his holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits…”

I awoke this morning with these verses on my mind. With all the turmoil

that exists within the world, it is a blessing to have the LORD’s Word!!!

Pray for Uncle Garrett. He is currently in St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis.

Love you all,

Dear Grands,

1 Corinthians 2:9, “But as it is written, ‘Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,

neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath

prepared for them that love him.’”

Just think of how much of the universe we’ve yet to discover; think of

the inventions of which we have yet to hear; yet, more than all of this

are the wonderful things God has prepared for us –things we do not

yet know! Wow! What a marvelous God we serve!!!

May He bless you today! We LOVE you!

Dear Grands,

Romans 15:4, “For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction,

so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

Paul references the Old Testament here and says that through patience and endurance, the

Scriptures might produce in us the hope of all things good, especially of eternity. Remember

that hope in the New Testament is not probable; it is certain! So, stay in the Word daily!!!

We are certain of you; be certain of our Love,

Dear Grands,

Romans 12:17-18, “Never pay back evil for evil to anyone.

Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18 If possible,

so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.”

We Christians are to be a peaceful people! Most of us

have a breaking point when it comes to temper. But, Paul

tells us to “Watch it!” If we are in the right on any issue,

we are to leave room for the LORD to work. I sometimes

have trouble with this; maybe you do, too. Still, the LORD

can (and does) avenge us when we are unjustly targeted

by others. James says, “Be slow to speak, slow to wrath…”

Ouch! That got to me!! Did it get to you, too?

Love you each and every one,
